Columbia College Foundation LAUNCHES MINI-GRANTS PROGRAM
First Round of Applications Due November 11th

The Columbia College Foundation is launching a brand new program to provide mini-grants that support its mission “to promote student success by providing community resources that support and expand educational opportunities for Columbia College's students.” The program is intended to provide a formal process by which potential projects can be presented to the Foundation for financial support.

“The College is such a significant resource for Tuolumne and Calaveras Counties,” said Mel Kirk, Foundation Board President. “We are looking forward to exploring creative ways to expand the Foundation’s impact beyond providing scholarships.”

Mini-grant applications are due November 11, 2011 and can be found on the Foundation webpage (www.gocolumbia.edu/foundation/minigrants), along with a full description of the mini-grants criteria and process. Applications will be reviewed by a Subcommittee of the Foundation Board of Directors. The Foundation expects to make approximately 15 awards in the range of $200 to $1,000. All funded projects must comply with college policies, the California Education code, and other regulations that the college is mandated to follow.

The Columbia College Foundation is a Sonora based non-profit organization that supports student success through scholarships, student activities, instructional programs, and other key campus-based projects. Since 1972, the Columbia College Foundation has enriched the campus environment by providing community resources that ultimately expand educational opportunities for Columbia’s students. Donations to the Columbia College Foundation are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Questions about the mini-grants program should be directed to the Beccie Michael, Director of Development, at (209) 588-5055 or michaelb@yosemite.edu.
