GIS Modeling - Introduction to UPlan (CMPSC 98UP)

Students who take this course will learn to use the ArcGIS program to run the UPlan urban growth model developed by the UC Davis Information Center for the Environment (ICE). Students will be introduced to the concepts of raster data development and manipulation using ArcGIS software and fundamentals of Land Use Planning. Concepts covered include vector data development and editing, conversion from vector to raster data types, basics of land use planning, and UPlan basics. Credit may be earned for only one of the following: CMPSC 98UP or GEOGR 98UP. May be repeated three times.
